GASPS AND SCREAMS IN HAPPINESS OMG ITS OU
Wow! This IS definitely one of the better yandere-esque horror VN's I've read in a while. I love how this story is executed and can't wait to play the full game! Well done!
This is by far, HANDS DOWN, one of the best VNs I've ever played so far. The dialogue was so good, the writing fr made me feel like I was watching a show cuz I was so immersed in it. The storyline and lore had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to figure out what happened next. I really like Adam as a character so far and I can't wait to see how him and the MC's relationship evolves in the next chapter. (The MC was funny af too xD)
Needless to say, I'll def be gushing about this for a bit and I will most DEFINITELY be around for chapter 3. Keep up the good work!! :3

its amazing how you made me love him but also totally want the MC to maybe kill him. Its very horror but I still totally ship them.
I had so much fun with this one!! it was thrilling to play the whole thing and i just kept pressing the space bar to see what would happen next. also, fuck, adam !! (lmao.) i just really like how much of a jerk he is, how infuriating and despicable he can be. his background is also really intriguing and i already have some idea of what it could be, but really, whatever his background may be, he is the worst <3. angry, violent, sexually repressed man with lots of religious trauma loaded on his back, i hope to see your demise one day <3 you ain't unique. i have my religious trauma too <3
i'm also curious to see how saffron and adam's relationship will developing following the events of chapter 2. likewise, i'm curious to see what saffron will think of us as the story progresses.
also, slay mc. you probably should learn to shut up sometimes for your own good but honestly, i can't blame you. someone needs to bring adam down a peg.
anyway, yeah i had fun!! great game!! love the characters!! can't wait to see what you have planned for it <3
I honestly love how this ended out to be; I was originally here in chapter 1, A little confused on what Adam's intentions were in the beginning; but it also added so much suspense and I enjoy that a lot!
I enjoy the fact it switched between POVS. I feel like that is underrated in VNs. Of course, it isn't everyone's thing, but I always happen to overthink and wonder: "Damn... what are they thinking right now? what is happening with them right now?!" so that was really enjoyable. (coughs, I love Adam's character so much, and Saffrons too, I hope we see more of CAKE!)
I love the new sprites!!! I feel like it is a huge improvement in the art!
I love the Idea of Saffron being a cannibal---It is a nice little add on... I almost wonder what Saffron's opinion on MC is, it almost seems like he also has attraction towards him(I say this because of art I saw on YOU and HIM official twitter.)
This game became a HUGE interest of mine, I know some cliché's are used, but most aren't used often and that's something I love. Usually, MC already has a relationship the person beforehand; but we get to see how they met and everything, basically the entire story and that makes me so happy! I like how if you choose to help him yourself its like... paint there, and if you don't---My mind goes "oh yeah? no real injury huh? *STAB* THERE YA GO!" just for a little comedy mentioning.
While sometimes I didn't really realize what happen, in the end I understood the story completely.
I wonder though... What is it Ruth was so afraid of? is it Adam's father? is it another killer? That is a question I hope gets answered!! I hope we get to find out more for Adam's past, and the same for Saffron's... I want to know ALL the lore!! It makes the game more interesting!!!
I like the new pictures! That weren't in the chapter 1, like Adam holding the photo! That's cool!!!
I wonder what will happen in the future... God... maybe that is a nickname??? Or maybe... SAFFRON IS SATAN!!! so much suspense!!

Okay, not many visual novels have pulled me in like this.
Not ones where the chase feels unrelenting, nonstoping and I wonder about what "I" can do.
I'll be keeping an eye out for this project.

LOVED THIS GAME OMFG ive adored being able to watch the developer improve over the course of the updates. If im being honest, when I played the demo, I didn't like it much, though I saw potential, but upon the release of chapter 1 I became hooked. That, and I've loved seeing Hermits art improve, like I have never been so proud of a person I've never met????

Love the new chapter. I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever for the new chapter to come out. Also why did Saffron say God? Is it really god or is he just saying god? In the next chapter will there be a moment between the mc and Adam? Is Adam like a vampire or something and I’m assuming that her is his mother that he made a promise even though she is dead? I feel like he had that dream cuz he has a lot of guilt and believes that it’s his fault also that he maybe hallucinating too while dreaming(hypnagogic hallucinations I think it’s called)? not cuz his mom would want him to do stuff like that am I right or no ?
just started playing the game it seems good so far but idk if this is a glitch or mistake but he keeps like getting shorter and his body changes i tried uploading a photo but it didn't work

I had the same problem occur if you are talking about his sprites switching between his old one and new one throughout the gameplay! To solve this issue, I updated the game, uninstalled it, and reinstalled! It fixes the glitch and keeps all the new sprites! Don’t forget to save your progress so you don’t lose your current spot. Hope this helps!

I played the game and got most of the available endings and oh my gosh, I'm absolutely in LOVE with this game. The endless endings and the story line in general is such an amazing sight to see. The way we see as character is built and even learning things about Seffron, like learning he's a cannibal without it telling us, makes the story so well fleshed out with the build of of Adam knowing Aunt Ruth, and the game can be even freaky at times, with a small hint of comedy in-between. I can't wait on what's come for the future of this game as I want to be here fully for all it's updates, as I love this game so much already!
Almost forgot to mention, the chapters are really lengthy, leaving me time to enjoy it so much. I adore this game with all my heart

Had to replay the game for chapter 2 but it was so worth it !! I've never seen a game with POV changes and it's honestly so cool.
I was looking forward to the next update so I was excited and hyped to hear that Chapter 2 was finally upon us!! I love this story so much and I will say, this game is my favorite VN. I was here when Chapter 1 was first released and I caught myself being so fixated on this game. This VN is a great work of art!
Speechless. The writing is amazing, the plot is so interesting and always leaves me wanting for more, the music?? perfect fit for this game and sets the mood. I love and HATE Adam and Saffron both, they´re so complex, any time I thought I had them or the story figured out, I was proven wrong as the story developed.

Well, I think that POV change is okay but some of that doesn't even change like YOU -> YOU. Except for that, I enjoyed the VN.
I don't know that much about the storytelling but I think the Aunt Ruth's backstory that tied with Adam is feel like extra step.
Like, you could just make Adam's twisted obsession purely based on MC's action, but it seems like it wouldn't in a main game,
BUT! Still a great VN I played, I really loved Adam and MC. I can't wait to play the full version. Thank you for your work. :D

once again, I'm currently on a hunt for a tone of new and old visual novels to play as I go through them pretty quickly. ive played about 3 different ones today and finished them all but ive had this one on my list for quite a while and I'm excited to play it :)
update: HOLLY HELL THAT WAS AMAZING! the characters, the story, the different shifting point of views, the cliff hanger, just absolutely everything about it was AMAZING. i was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what was going to happen next. it was entertaining, it was funny in some parts, it was interesting, it was captivating, and most of all oh my god it the backgrounds, the character deigns, the art in general was Plesant to look at. this might seem like a lot, and you might be thinking I'm over hyping this game for what it's worth but for being Unknown Hermits FIRST game it was amazing. yes, some parts can be confusing and might feel unnecessary at times but honestly i think it just brings this game some charm. at first i thought it was going to be a short demo but honestly it lasted me a good hour or so. you can tell that the creator probably had a bit of fun making it and coming up with all these scenarios and that they put a lot of hard work into. 1,000/10 in my opinion. I'm so excited for the full version!

They made an update to it; new sprites, slight adjustment to the writing, and currently, now a chapter 2.
i just played through this and i loveddd it! it's hard to believe that it's a demo because of how developed the plot and characters feel. i can't wait to learn more about every character and see where everything leads. it leaves so many questions for players, and the art is also so pretty. i love how the text box is styled as well. every little detail just really makes it feel so complete !!

Okay, I'm not the kind of person to actually take the time to write long reviews because most of the visual novels I play are really good and have nothing bad to comment on or point out. But, I'm sorry, this one does. (This review is just my pure opinion, please don't go hating around on people just because you don't like their content! And please don't take this too seriously, and don't dox me, ty ty.) ALSO SPOILERS AHEAD OFC
Honestly, it's the first time playing a visual novel became tense, and I had to take multiple breaks to yell to my friends about my frustrations. So, I'm just confused, deadly confused about this game. The history itself is just a tangled mess that I can barely understand. It's like Adam wants to take revenge on the protagonist, who made him feel something new after having to kiss him just so he didn't kill them? And if you don't kiss him, you immediately die? I honestly didn't like that at all; we started badly. Then, all of the other story of the aunt and the life of the MC feels almost pointless. Why should I care about the lore of the aunt? I know it's technically important because she was connected with Adam in a way (in here I'm not too sure because I ended up skipping towards the end just to finish the demo). And also, another big complaint about the narrative choice of doing multiple POVs. Honestly, I hate that. Like, we didn't need to know exactly what Adam was doing when he was looking for us. I kinda understand it because it's a visual novel where the two main characters are away for so long; there weren't many other ways to kinda implement their different POVs, but it could have been done better. AND THE PART WHEN WE GET THE POV OF THE AUNT?? That felt deadly unnecessary, dude. Like, it could have been just an Adam POV and nothing more. I laughed my ass off in that part because dude, why?
And also, another thing I really didn't like, just small pinpoints. Why is the MC randomly a cosplayer? Why, a usually known character who is supposed to be a self-insert, randomly does cosplay, and why is that detail implemented like that? Usually, when the MC has a unique job or hobby, it's implemented in the story as something more organic that has meaning, but why like that? Just so we could have a horny scene of Adam going nuts for seeing pics of the MC? Another one! In the beginning of the game, we heard a censored version of Twitter, but later in the scene where Adam finds the social media of the MC, we don't get a social media cameo! It felt super uncomfortable and gave the vibe of lazy writing or just inconsistency. And also, when we got the dream that Adam had about the MC, and then about his mom, we didn't get a proper transition into the dream. I realized it was a dream like 5 minutes later just for how out of place it was. It felt so random. Again, this is just my personal opinion! But I can say I really liked the art, and the sprite work is really pretty! I loved the design of Adam, not his personality or way of acting but.. he is really pretty!

In all honesty, the swaps in POV were to build tension within the narrative to show Adam is closing in on the player and that was what I personally feels fitting for the storyline itself. As for the other decisions, I wont explain them away since they tread into spoiler territory. But I appreciate all reviews even if from a negative standpoint and will take this one into careful consideration going forward! 💙 I'm sorry the game was disappointing and confusing for you and I hope you find better games that you connect with in the future. I'm sorry this wasn't one of them.
